New Car Part 1

Author's display

I couldn't stop laughing at your last post Nels.... Yes I was stupid but I did check the oil and it was fine. The check oil light would have been on...ok maybe it was my fault but at least I could look back and laugh. Needless to say, I always do my oil changes on time and check the oil.

I was looking around at different cars and man was it hard to pick a car that I really want. I finally came across a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ, fully loaded with side airbags! (Yes it's now a requirement!) So I called the guy in Toronto and asked him a few questions...First of all he had a thick Arab accent (Strike One), I asked him if the car had been in an accident. He said Yes, frontal collison (Strike Two), then he said it runs fine, the owner's son drives it everyday, (Strike Three). So I ended the conversation really quickly. Then I fell upon the same car in Ottawa and it was certified by Mazda dealership so I figured it was perfect. Called up the dealership and apparently the car has transmission problems so it is not being sold. So I came to the conclusion that even though the car has really good reviews, it is not meant to be.

Moving on now and still searching for a car...Got a call from the insurance company, they told me how they came to the price for my car and I laughed. One dealer sold my car, base model, manual for $4000 less than what they are being sold right now. So of course they jumped on it and used that price. Problem is the car is sold and no way there will be another car with that price anytime soon. So now they are willing to negotiate a price.

Wish me luck but this is not going to be pretty!
